Men’s Retreat: March 2-4
Join us for Men’s Retreat at RMMC on March 2-4, 2018. The festivities for the weekend include worship times, foosball, ping pong, chess, human curling, snowshoeing, great fellowship and more! This year, Herm Weaver (Nederland, CO) will be leading the worship times by sharing his stories and thoughts. The theme for the weekend, “Practice of Love” will center on practicing love as a core part of our life stories. Herm will guide participants in reflecting and living those stories, taking insights gathered during the weekend and applying them to life after the retreat. Woven throughout the weekend will be times of reflection to meditate and allow the Spirit to move. Register online today to reserve your space for the retreat. Pictured: Herm Weaver

Volunteers Needed For Third Year Spruce Beetle Efforts
On Saturday, April 21, come spend a day in the woods at RMMC treating spruce trees with bug repellent. We need a large group of about 20 hikers to staple small packets to over 1,500 trees.

Thanks to the efforts of last year’s volunteers, the treatment made a big difference in how many trees became infested. We lost about 140 trees the first season, and only about 60 the second. The loss number for 2017 was slightly higher, at 66. The non-toxic, pheromone-based treatment can make the trees unappealing to spruce beetles, which will probably leave their winter dormancy in May. New research has shown that a newer, improved packet is more effective, so we’ll be giving that a try.
With a warm and dry spring, we have a narrow window to get this done. We’ll start at 8:30 AM on Saturday and work until all the packets are on a tree (hopefully finishing by mid-afternoon). Brunch and supper will be provided, so please let us know of your plans to eat with us. If you’d like to arrive the night before, we can find you a bed. Also, if you have a Stanley type T-50 staple gun, snowshoes, and/or a compass, please bring them. Camp has some snowshoes; let’s hope we need them! If you can help, please sign up online or call camp at 719-687-9506.

New Tuesday Activity for Senior High Resident Camp!

Each year, Senior High Resident campers select from four options for the special Tuesday activity. As a new option for 2018, we have added the Mt Princeton Hot Springs and Water Slide as an activity. Campers and staff will have the opportunity to sit in the creekside hot springs or enjoy the 400’ water slide along with a lazy river and pool. Campers can select this option during registration.

Other options for the Tuesday activity are whitewater rafting, Browns Canyon Adventure Park, and an overnight camping trip to Horsethief Park.

You’ve Been Spotted!
We spotted Diane Fowler (La Junta, CO) wearing a RMMC shirt. She is pictured here at Amani Garden Inn in Nairobi, Kenya. Diane and her husband, Bob, were on vacation in Kenya for two weeks in October. Part of their trip was a safari and several days were spent on the coast in Mombasa. In between those trips they stayed at the Amani Garden Inn which used to be the Mennonite Guest House. Diane shares, “[The Inn] was such a peaceful place in that city.” Thanks, Diane, for sharing RMMC with the beautiful country of Kenya!
